A Milestone for Chuck!

This weekend was Alumni Weekend at Hendrix College, Conway, Arkansas, USA.  Hendrix celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Graduation of the Class of 1961.  All members from the Half Century Club from every year were invited.  The oldest graduate that attended graduated in 1935...he was 99 years old.

At Campus Entrance
The first event was a Friday Luncheon on the campus.  The Graduates of the Class of 1961 were inducted into the Half Centur Club.  They each received a medallion to commemorate the occasion.

Chuck's Turn
Each attendee reminisced about his/her days at Hendrix...some were funny, some were brief and some were poignant.  All were inspiring.

Chuck and Peggy
Chuck's sister, Peggy, a Half Century Club member and her husband, Del, attended.  This was special to have Peggy and Del with us.  The best part: Chuck's cousin, Ellis Arnold, Executive Vice President and Dean of Advancement represented Hendrix as Master of Ceremony. He presented Chuck with his Medallion.  We are waiting for pictures...which I will add and repost! I just couldn't wait to post this event...it is really special to our family and Chuck.

Saturday night was a special party for the Class of 1961.  It was held at the Capitol Hotel in Little Rock.  I am not sure how many attended...we lost some faces that attended Friday but some new faces joined the group.

Where the cooking,
wining, dining and
visiting happened!
We were on the 2nd floor
Private Dining
What wonderful food!  Shrimp and Grits and Smoked Beef Tenderloin served with Scalloped Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus were the standouts.  All were prepared by Capitol Hotel Chefs on site.  Delicious!  Definitely a destination place for a special occasion!
