Thought for Thursday

"Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.  A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings, and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way."

W. H. Murray said that in his book
The Scottish Himalayan Expedition.
I got this quote when I was participating
in a 30-day journal project with
Lisa Sonora.

SONG FOR SUNDAY-AMAZING GRACE

Amazing Grace
John Newton (1725-1807)

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall profess, within the vail,
A life of joy and peace.
The following stanza was written by an an anonymous author, often replacing the sixth stanza, or inserted as the fourth.
When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.

Chorus:
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

Whoever heard of Muscle Shoals Alabama?

Not me...until recently.  How could I have

missed this important place in the history of

music?  I guess I was distracted by life?

I have heard of it now.  If you haven't, then

check out the DVD, "Muscle Shoals",  from your

local library...or buy it from Amazon.

'Definitely Watch' or 'Do Not Miss' Movie!

SONGS FOR SUNDAY

#1 Pin on My Pinterest-OKLAHOMA wins!

Oklahoma, my very first pin on Pinterest was to my 'Sound of Music'

Board.  It has been my most popular pin to date!

I still loved it in the 7th grade:)

My first 'live' theater

experience was

 "Oklahoma".

My Mom and Dad took

me to see it when I was

in the 5th or 6th grade.

When I saw the movie with Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones, I was

hooked.  My Mom's family was from Oklahoma and I visited there

many times as a kid...where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain!

I love Oklahoma!  So do a lot of other people. So far, 537 have repinned

it, 63 'heart' it, and 5 have made comments.  (Probably not a record, but

still a lot of people).  Every morning when I check my phone, someone

will have repinned or liked it.

FOR THE FOURTH

While the storm clouds gather far across the sea,
Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free,
Let us all be grateful for a land so fair,
As we raise our voices in a solemn prayer.
God bless America,
Land that I love,
Stand beside her, and guide her
Through the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home
God bless America, My home sweet home.
