A Wonderful Day for a Trail Walk - Lake DeSoto Multi-Purpose Trail

Perfect Spring weather sent us outdoors on April Fool's Day.   We headed to the Lake DeSoto Multi Purpose Trail and a 3.4 mile trail walk.  Yes, you read it right...3.4 miles.  This was the longest trail walk we have taken.  We were armed with bottled water and our cell phones...one of which is my camera.

We took the top trail. We parked across from S. Pego Way;
walked along the DeSoto Golf Course to Barcelona;
and back along Calella Rd.

Only .9 mile to go...gasp!

.4 mile more gasp! gasp!

Yea!!!! The End at last!

We decided the next time we walked this trail we would walk only the first mile and double back. It is the prettiest part. The remaining 2.5 miles was mainly along one of the main roads or streets in front of houses. We had to walk the full trail at least once. Didn't we?

Walking the Trails, Lake Balboa Spillway

The sun was out and we were in the house...much too nice of a day to stay there. The Balboa Trail is close to our house so we decided to see if we could find it. We did not have the map below at the time. After a few fits and starts we found Trail B parking.  There was a truck blocking the Promesa entrance and Trail A was locked behind a gate to the Magellan golf cart barn.

Just checking!

This trail is not as pretty or as long as the Cedar Creek Trail that we walked last week.  It is about a two mile walk.  About one mile of it is on top of the dam and a nice view of Balboa Lake.

A Walk in the Park

What a great day to get out and walk in the park...sun is out, 60 degrees! How could we not?  Tomorrow we have a 70% chance of rain so we will be limited to indoor activities.

Cedar Creek Trail called to us...

We sat on a bench
thankful to be here!
